    The Stamp Active Network (previously National Youth Stamp Committee) is an independent body of volunteers that seeks to encourage youth philately in the UK, supported by the Association of British Philatelic Societies. (ABPS)

    In Jan. 2008, they announced the "New Chairman for Stamp Active Network (SAN)" as Hugh Feldman, who can be contacted at his E-mail or by phone on 01799 584579.

    Currently he holds positions as Finance Team Leader with 'London 2010' and is a director of Stamp World Exhibitions, Editor of the ABPS News and the journal of the Postal History Society. He is a member of a number of societies, including the RPSL, the PHS and the Society of Postal Historians. SAN also thanked Pat Grimwood-Taylor (Cavendish) for her 2 years' stewardship of the committee, noting she "will now be in charge of the sub-committee organising the young collectors area at 'London 2010' " and that "John Davies and Richard West continue as Secretary and Competitions Organiser, with Dave Armitage in charge of Exhibitions/Stampex."

    "NEPA can trace its history back to the formation of the North of England Philatelic Society in Newcastle in 1903. As the society grew, it formed branches in Sunderland, Darlington and Shields. The Society was reorganized as an Association of Societies thus forming the North of England Philatelic Association at a special meeting in 1944. The Association is still an Association of Societies with a regular Convention hosted by one [or more] its member societies."
    "A more detailed History of the North East of England Philatelic Association [NEPA]" ...and so it was that NEPA was born. Concluding, "As to the future who knows? Declining membership numbers at local level is a cause for great concern and there seems to be few new members taking up the hobby. But let’s end this potted history on a positive note – NEPA has been through bigger dips in its membership that this in the past, and has gone on to become stronger. As long as there are philatelists in the North East, NEPA will be there to serve their needs."
