      "The Ukrainian Philatelic and Numismatic Society (UPNS) seeks to unite all collectors of Ukrainian materials and is particularly dedicated to the promotion of Ukrainian stamp, coin, and medal collecting. All fields of Ukrainian philately and numismatics are encouraged: from pre-stamp mailings to post-Soviet provisionals, and from ancient coins to current banknotes."

      The Detroit Chapter notes the following key Ukrainian dates:
      Mar. 2, 1861 Abolition of Serfdom in Ukraine
      Mar. 5, 1950 Death of T. Chuprynka - Roman Shukhevych commander of UPA
      Mar. 9, 1814 Birth of Taras Shevchenko
      Mar. 15, 1939 Carpatho-Ukraine declares its Independence
      Mar. 16, 1917 Ukrainian Central Rada founded
      Mar. 18, 1913 Founding of Sich in Lviv
      And, further, notes: "J. Tkachuk wrote a memorandum regarding the fact that C. Ceremuga is not a Ukraine Expertizer." (apparently his name is Ukrainian? ajw)
